I need to replace the rectifier on my 75xs, my question is on mikesxs they sell a regulator/rectifier that fits the stock wiring harness, the bike already has a regulator on the left under the side cover. What does this mean for installing the new regulator/rectifier? Can I have two regulators or should i remove the one under the side cover? Any info on this will be helpfull.
Thanks

You would need to rewire for that one so I'm sure you could have one or the other, but not both at the same time. Not sure why you would want to keep the old one? Most people prefer to do the separate Reg. and Rectifier that way if one goes you only need to replace that one unit.

Mikes part # 24-2089 should do it for you. Get rid of the points type regulator and (under the battery) rectifier. The solid state unit should give you many miles of dependable service. Don't mount it under the battery box.
Some in here might be able to give you a cheaper source.
