Rephase kickstarter issue

So I did a rephase last year, had everything sent out to Hugh's Handbuilt (did and wonderful job), and reassembled everything. Ever since then my kickstarter has been "mushy". Is there anything you should do differently when installing the kickstarter assembly after a rephase?
I'm almost sure it's a number of things causing it, like the pushrod adjustment for the clutch and the way I wound the spring, but I figured I'd ask.

rephase has no change to kick start,sounds like you need a bit more pre-load on the return spring
