Rev limiter?

I just bought a “83” SX with a little over 7k on the clock. The engine runs fine. I set the valves gapped the plugs and set the cam chain. I don’t have vacuum gauges so I can’t synchronize the carburetors. With that said. The bike will rev to 6k and flattens out in every gear. It will not red line. Does the electronic ignition have a rev limiter built in to it?

No. It does not have a rev limiter.

The '80 and later BS34 carbs are notoriously lean from the factory. The bike will be happier and run better if you bump the mains up one size.
