looking for some help, its actually for my 81 xs850, but i believe the headlight switch is the same as the xs650, with the reserve lighting unit, etc.
basically what ive done is swapped the front end with one off a yamaha r1. i would like to use the r1 handlebar controls. however the xs850 headlight switch as 5 wires. where-as the r1 switch only has 2, basically a normal switch.
ive looked through my clymer manual wiring diagrams, and i can see 2 of the 5 wires are for the reserve lighting unit. which i have no problems bypassing if thats needed.
but basically my question is, do any of you know how i can make the 2 wire, r1, switch work with the 850's wiring? i believe its safe to assume the headlight wiring is the same as the 650 if that helps.
