I've been listening to Van Morrison's music for 50 years now !
I am the most non-religious person yet I'd say that some of his music and lyrics are spiritual , at times almost a meditation
Plus 1 on Van Morrison. There’s something great about that guy.
I think Van's music is a bit 'Marmite ' to many.... you either love or hate it
Van was there right from the beginning of the rhythm and blues scene.
Last night I watched a documentary about another one of my all time favourite musicians John lee Hooker and there In an early 60s picture was Van with John
Hooker was soooo influential ....especially to the British music scene from the early skiffle of Lonnie Donegan to the Stones Yardbirds and Animals that followed and later Canned Heat et al.
One of my fav Hooker songs was Tupelo .....incredibly haunting and atmospheric
Alan Wilson of Canned Heat was my neighbor , he lived two doors down the hill from me. An intense musical guy with a few demons.RIP Blind Owl
.......for the 60 plus crowd.

The best performance of the best composition, the epitome of western civilization, Wie schoen leuchetet der Mogernstern "How Beautiful the Morning Star". If you want to follow along with an English translation from the German, google "BWV 1" and several will come up.
