Rooky- Petcock help needed....

Hi all-
I just picked up a 1980 XS650. I'm not sure if it's a "Special" or ???.
It has wire wheels, and a stepped seat. Very dark blue.

My big question, is which way should the petcock valve lever point to turn the gas "On" ?
Or "Off" ?
Or "Reserve" ?

It's really hard to tell for a rooky like me. The last XS I owned I bought new in around 1975 or '78. I don't remember......

Turn the lever handle to where you want it.
If you arent sure pull the hose off and see what happens when the lever is in the three postions

I have a stock standard which has vacuum petcocks . There is no "off" on mine ,gas only flows when the engine is creating suction or if the petcock is turned to prime.
