I have a spring compressor and would take them off. The problem is the shock is welded and not rebuildable by me. S&W said they would rebuild them, then. Don't know about Progressive still doing it though. Hence the hesitation to call. I do have some Progressive 412 shocks from a Sportster, but they are 13-1/2" and too long for my 'challenged' inseam.
