Seat question

Ok I have figured out that I have an 1980 XS650 Special II. From reading on here that explains my spoked wheels and hinged seat. So my question is about the seat.
What seats will fit? Since it is still a hinged seat like the earlier standards will an earlier seat fit?

Thanks but I am wanting a cafe seat and I found one I want but I'm not sure it will fit since it is for an earlier model.

If you have a Special II, an earlier or same year seat for a standard WILL NOT fit. Special II can trade up with '78 & '79 Special. That's it.

No. The pans are completely different. I have a '78 standard in my garage, as well as a '79 Special II. I tried swapping the seats. NO WAY. It's not going to happen. If you want to use the same mounting system, it's no going to be simple. The pans are not the same.

The easiest solution for you is to get a good pan for a Special II, and make a seat from that. Or...I found a new seat on eBay. I have heard no feedback on this. I just did a search. '78-'79 Special Cafe Seat

The bottom of it doesn't look that much different than mine to me. Here is a couple pictures of mine I just ran out and took real quick with my phone
