seat removal... with no keys????

Ok so I was just given.... yes for free! A 78 however, no keys at all! Looking to remove the seat found the latch but with no key I don't know how to get it off! Don't really want to have it rekeyed case I'm gonna tear it all apart anyway and have new ignition on the way.... any advise?

Just did this on a 79 (not so) special with no key.
remove the tiny clip and tap out the front hinge pin, a finish nail and rust buster help.
pry back the thin metal guard and remove the rear hinge pin. this lets you lift the seat enough to unbolt the latch from the pan. the latch can be worked out of the lock, with the seat off it a screw driver will retract the slide. You can remove the lock and discard the pins and springs then any key will open it.
