Ok folks i have a need to start my own thread so that I'm not hijacking someone else's:rolleyes:...It occurred to me that we need a nice picture thread on bikes we own..past and present..I'm sure theres quite a spectrum of machines ...so lets see what ya got...
I'll start with this bike since I already posted it elsewhere..1981 Yamaha XS1100SH Streetfighter that has been altered witha Std tank and rear seat cowl and taillight assy..plus many extras..This was all done when the bike was brand new by the original owner ..I was the 2nd owner..and this was original condition as well not restored...many mods though.

Madmax-im,
Let’s hear everything you know about that small windshield. Did you buy it ?
I have one in storage. Yours is the first I’ve seen on a bike .

Well unfortunately i have no idea what it is/was . The PO installed it..I thought it was made by Chase Harper but not certain...As for the other mods on this bike.. extra slots machined into the rotors..SS brake lines front and rear..Media blasted rims ..bare aluminum left exposed..Kerker 4 to 1 exh. 2point engine case guards..Blacked out lower fork tubes..Std tank debadged and repainted which replaced the Special tank..Stock side covers blacked out over original emblems..side reflectors(orange) removed..gas assisted rear shocks..Std
seat and rear cowling and tailight which again replaced the Special's seat......Pod filters..thats just about it..Oh..the biggie how could i forget..this motor was bored out to 1178 or 1197 cc(not sure) but it was dynoed at 105 hp. A wicked bike.

DSCN4038.JPG DSCN4039.JPG My '92 XJ600 Seca II. She taught me a lot. Had to put her forks and electricals in order. Then the starter gears chipped up ( a known fault of the earlier ones). It was my first inline 4 banger. She showed me what a 4 cylinder is all about. WOW! I'm excited about getting my KZ/GPz hybrid project on the road so I can get "The SG" down and show her some love.

OK. I found some stuff. Goes back to 07. The gold K1 first. Then the RD. Then the KZ. And then the KO. Keep in mind that I lived in a small townhome/bike shop. And usually started with stuff like this. I had to sell off the KZ and the RD for more room. Should never have sold that RD. Every couple of years I try to buy it back. He won’t sell it back. The KZ and RD were really good candidates.

My last XS1100 1979 XS1100F. AKA Swampthing.. A bike a fellow XSive resurrected from a Louisiana Bayou...in 2003..I know him and rode with this bike a few times at XS11.com rallies and RTEs.. before i acquired it...This was the bike that was wrecked 2 yrs ago on Memorial Day weekend... A lady in a Jeep pulled out into oncoming traffic from a shopping center without looking my way. Bike T boned her Jeep and i flew 59ft..landing on the back of my head.neck and shoulders..ATGATT saved my bacon. This bike had 156000 miles on it at the time it died...:(

I have owned a few others but their pics are all before digitalization..old school photos..some of which were lost in a flood during a hurricane in 1998 in NJ..

So i have a habit of riding large displacement machines..It will be interesting to see how well i take to an XS650...I am hoping it will be enough to satisfy my needs...unknown at the present time.
When i rode the ST1100s I would average over 20k miles a year...With the Bandit...I was just beginning to explore its potential after 11 months of ownership..I wrecked it as noted elsewhere...Still have unfinished business with a Bandit...
to be cont....

Unfortunately I don’t have any photos from back in the 70’s and 80’. So I snagged some file photos that show what they looked like. In the order that I owned them.
The bike that started it all.

1976 custom 76 XS650. Factory mags, rear disc, header. Great bike. This photo is from an auction house in England, but I believe that to be my actual old bike. It just had too many unique modifications to be random. In this photo, the only thing that’s different from the way my bike looked is the seats recovered and the grips.

That brought me back to old iron, because I missed having bikes that I could work on. My present stable.
