Hello all-
New member here but previous owner of 2 XS-650's back in the 1980's. I'm looking to find another one for nostalgia and just to enjoy one of Yamaha's best. I have found a unmolested 1979 Special with low miles and a great runner. Have a question about the side panel emblems. This one has the "650 Special" emblems on both side panels but with the "check mark" under the lettering. In researching, it appears that version appears starting on the 1980 models. Original owner swears they came on the bike that way when bought new. Anyone seen this style on a 79? I'm just trying to do my research and make sure everything about the bike is accurate. Thanks in advance for any help.
