A few months back I ordered a high output coil (Part #17-6903) and plug wires (Part #23-2906) from Mike's XS but didn't get around to putting them on until a few days ago. And my bike started running like crap and fouling plugs.

So this morning I started troubleshooting but everything checked out fine. I put in more new plugs-- same problems...

Then it hit me. The stock coil wires were covered with a piece of rubber tubing from the coil almost to the spark plug cap. I walked to my old parts box (never throw anything away) fished out my old coil and slid the rubber hoses off the old plug wires.

I put the rubber hoses over the new plug wires, screwed the ends back on and rode for over 2 hours without a problem.

I think she's fixed.

Sometimes the tiniest little goofs can cause the biggest problems.

Yes
I have found it a very bad idea to throw any XS parts away. They can come in handy and save$$.
Small stuff can make a big difference!

you might have reconnected something when you put the sleeves on.

Unless you were arcing to the frame I don't see those making that big a difference - the more probable scenario for me is a bad connection on the boot end of one of your cylinders.
