The weather person will announce when some celestial event will happen. Several years ago the space shuttle was at the International space station and they were to pass over Tucson at O God 20 hr and visible for 10 min. I got up with the set alarm and saw the celestial spectacle. It was well defined the Space Shuttle and ISS profiles. One of my many fond memories.

I remember getting up at 4am to see apollo 8 go over head. To this day the most impressive satellite I have ever seen. Because of the low orbit (59 miles), It really hauled ass across the sky.
