Special seat vs standard seat

My '78 Special has the king/queen seat where the pillion is raised up slightly vs the driver. I find that the drivers portion and my tush do not coincide therefore to be comfortable for any distance I have to slide my butt back slightly onto the "queen" portion of the seat. I'm going to try to rotate the handlebars forward to change my posture on the seat and see if it helps, but if it doesn't, will a standard seat fit in place of my special seat without any mods?

The skirt line is "dipped" on the specials and the side covers are also. but the standard seat fits. A 79 special with a standard seat (slightly lowered) I have the standard seat on for the same reason as you. My scrawny butt has spent several thousand miles on it this year.

Standard seats 74-79 fit but 76-78 seem to have the best cushioning.
