When you did, was the rear end noticeably lower ? Any pics ?
It was in the early stages of getting her running after a twenty-odd year sleep. It didn't stay that way for long but the brake stay and chainguard were changed out to accommodate the mags. I have one shot of her, not great for comparison.
No noticeable change in height as I recall, mebbe an illusory thing 'cause of the fatter tire. There is a minor difference in revolution between the 18"s and the 16"s according to a spread sheet that I saw (5twins?). Personally I like the stock stance and setup of the Standard for my fun riding....hills, hollers and twisties. The 16" does hold the straight line better and handles the road snakes
I have a set of Heritage rims that I've been thinking of throwing on but I also have a set of the early steel rims that I'd like to hub for her.
