Standard Rear Rack pics

Well look at that ! ;)
Nice shape to it. Even a back rest.
I’ve never seen one like that and it looks GREAT ..
I’d even saw my frame handle loop off for one like that.. hmmm, what kind of XS parts are you looking for nj1639

ps : the pumpkin almost looks like a jack o lantern tail light there. Fitting

:D

Hey Randy,
This is Willie's rack, I'm babysitting his bike while he's in Texas.......better than a year now. I could link you to him. He could use a few things to bring his bike to life and make it road worthy. I don't see his bike or any accessories going anywhere soon.
Rick

This was advertised as from an XS1100. Just propped up on Madness as a trial. I'm big on a backrest, adjustable backrest that isn't sissy bar high is the holy grail. That I got it for $10 didn't hurt.

Are there stamped steel sections that might anchor on the rear turn signal bracket shouldered bolts ?
I thought I saw a system utilizing that anchor point ..

A rough shot of the distance between the shock mount and the turn signal mount for an xs650 Standard's carry rack.
Thanks again Rick. That rough shot looks right for the fender/signal mount bracket. That would put the flat steel strap under the bracket and on the frame (behind?) and mostly out of sight. Perhaps a longer shoulder bolt was provided with the rack. Anyway, that rack has sleek eye appeal. I’d say after seeing examples of this rack and the ANCO, either is a great find.
Thank you everybody for the pics and effort on this.

It appears to be a rack for a 1981 XS1100 Venturer or Trans Canada. (maybe)

I have racks for XS1100 and XS650 Specials. They look similar to the one on Madness. The XS1100 rack is considerably wider than the XS650 rack.

Eight months back this very model rack showed up in the pic.. "Nice Rack" comment worthy looking too.

I was still able to rethink XS650 project end goals including my 78E..
I decided on a route Sunday which would return me past a known 79XS650F for sale with a rack on the back..

So there it was, another XS Standard (79) still surviving with stock electricals but many missing or damaged parts. The owner is making it thru with a family in a nice burb. He starts to address the other whole front end he has in a shop for the 79? He admits his asking price is a high throw out for his family. He clearly has intention of making his XS much better than it is currently, just needs help
:D
See, I do have the turn signals & chrome brackets he wants after he takes off the ugly rack !
:yikes:
Jack pot ! I flipped out the short stack of $20's and exchanged names & numbers..
I have found another 79 Standard to assist in a rescue to !
And the rack is in my 78E pile which is growing :)

I like that rack! I don’t recall seeing that model before, nice score!

Thanks Bob, I'm quite certain it was sourced in 1979 when the bike was new. The hardware all cracked loose and seemed as if so. So I think these were 78/79 era avaliable new? But where ?
