G'day,

When I replaced the brushes as soon as I screw the brush holder assy to the end cap the case is live.
Any ideas please.

There must be a connection between the end cap and the brush holder somehow to cause this.

We have only had one problem with a short in the starter motor. One of the long screws holding the stator to the mounting flange had shorted to an internal wire cant remember what one . The fix was heat shrink on the shank of the screw. There is a thread on here about it.

G'day,

Thanks Signal.

This is happening when I secure the brush block assy screws, have not even inserted the long case screws.
