steering stem

Hello 650 enthusiasts. My name is Jackie. My husband rides a C90 and I am attempting to rebuild his old 1978 xs 650 special so I can ride with him.. No.1 mistake not enough pictures. No. 2 mistake assuming a Chlymer manual would tell all. All cleaning is done and started to reassemble. Behind the Yamaha badge on front steering stem is two small bolt holes and cant for the life of me remember what goes there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If any one has pictures of putting their 650 back together would be a great help.

Hi Jackie and welcome,
Please say that your husband's ride is a Suzuki C90 Boulevard
(formerly the Suzuki Savage, I heard the truth in advertising rules forced the name change)
Because I just don't see a Honda C90 as a valid ride companion for an XS650.
