Strange whirl and knock in engine

Hello.. Im helping a friend with his new to him XS650. When we started it up and drove for a rid it had a knocking sound. We now have set the camchain and the valves to specs.. Its still having a knock and a whirl sound from the topend as far as we can hear..

Heres a small video I tried to make.. Can anyone help us and guide us? How bad is it? Just a camchain tensioner that is broken or worse? Piston or small end broken?

Next thing we will try is drain the oil and look for plastic or alu..

Have you balanced the carbs, if these are far out it will knock and sound rough, idle speed should be about 1200rpm, also set up the ignition timing if all these things are done and its still like it you may have to investigate further, if you put the bike on it's side stand you will be able to take the side oil filter off and see if there are metal or plastic bits in it, I also recommend you purchase a new front cam chain guide a crankcase performance oil filter from heiden tuning in Holland.
