"SideTracker"/ Monoshock build

What do you mean "from the bottom"? At first we were attempting to install pistons and trying to compress the rings, but one of them broke. I ended up having to order another ring set from Japan, and re-hone the cylinder. Second time we slid them in and then put the pins through, it worked.

Well thats kinda what I was trying to say. seems like a brilliant way to avoid the hassles when the pistons are hung on the rods first.

When the pistons are connected to the rods first, you have to use a ring compressor on both pistons while sliding the barrels down. Thats very akward, and thats how we broke a ring. I like the other way much better.

Good looking build so far, saw some pics on FB - thats if its the same scoot..?
Question - chain alignment - you are obviously using an offset front sprocket.?

I really like the crusty faded XS2 tank on this. Hope you are keeping it this way.
