I responded to a vague 'parts' Craigslist ad seeking an oem stator cover, '80+ clutch, and E-type cam chain adjuster. He had the stator cover but not the others.

Long story short, he wanted this stuff gone and made me a deal I couldn't refuse.

Stay tuned to find out what this little Fit can carry!

Very nice haul Daniel, good for you!
Any cam chain guides in good shape you'd be willing to part with in there? ;)

Good score!! Looks like most of 2 motors, among other stuff? I love finding parts bikes or parts lots, you can save so much over buying individual parts. Yes, spread it all out and get some pics. There are so many little unique bolts and fittings on these, most N.L.A., so this is one of the few ways to get them now. From the motors you should get spare oil filters, sump plates, and advance units if they're points models, not to mention all the side and valve covers. And you need clutch plates, now you should have 2 assemblies to pick through.

Yip yah DB - great haul!!

I’ll be bugging you for some nuts and bolts here and there my friend!

Pete

The motors are 74, 75, & 79.

I found another rocker cover, but it doesn't match the last head. Oh, well. Who knows, maybe there's another in here.

Alright, that's enough fun for today. I'll get into these bins in the days to come.

Veeerrryyy nice Daniel. You've got projects galore now! Well done.

Hard to say Daniel....you can measure them and as long as they’re close to “new” in thickness and they are good and flat, they might be better than aftermarket parts.

Fortunately, as you have recently discovered, getting in there and changing clutch plates is not a big deal at all.

Any aftermarket cams? Like a Megacams?

Great find anyway you slice it! You could build a dream engine and keep riding while doing it!

Many '79 models came with the type E tensioner. Keep digging around through the boxes, you may uncover one yet. You don't need the complete assembly, just the rod and the lock nut. They can be swapped into a type D assembly to convert it.

it seemed like false economy to use wear parts that have been sitting so long. No?
If they have any meat at all left, how can free be false economy? Clutch plates last a long time. Doing whatever to the clutch takes about 30 min. once you've been in there a time or two. Keep everything in two or three large groups stuck together with oil :)
