Switch to front drum brake

Can anyone tell me if an SR400 or SR500 front drum set up will fit my '78 XS?
I realise this is probably something that has come up before.

Yes it will, but you will need the locking plate to anchor the brake plate to the fork leg .....

Where you are, you may be able to find the original part. We're not so lucky here in the States. We never got a front drum brake model SR500.

I'm in the UK. Anchoring the brake plate won't be a problem, but that being said the link you sent is a very 'clean' piece of kit.
Problem now.........finding a full drum brake!
