Wellllll 2M, it does look better than the entangled mess the P.O. Left? Knowing that Ace ripped him a new orifice for the bolt he purchased, I would think paying 7 bucks for a new one from MikesXS, that won't bottom out after 3 turns, might be a better investment? Then again maybe it felt good to spin his lathe for a few minutes? Lol.
Now for techniques to get a stuck threaded seal retainer SOB out of there. I have fought one a time or two.

And getting the oil seal back in there too! My P.O. Thought it would be a good place for gasket sealer, in that tiny place???
