tear down

Just bought an '81 xs650 special II, first time go at converting to bobber.
Pretty much have 0 experience in this arena, but thought I could at least break it down to the frame.
Need to tear down for hard tail installation and paint.
Is there a practical way to accomplish this or can I just have at it?

You gotta get it to the frame, just go for it.

Photograph, bag, and label EVERY part you take off. The extra couple minutes now will save you in the long run.
