out of the box
Under the right conditions, I've seen reversion on this kind of bike that was bad enuff to create a hovering 'fog' in the carb inlet, nothing going in, nothing coming out, no power. But, like you said, that's not the 'cause' here.
If I run the bike around, stop it, hop off, open the throttle to peer into the intake, this luxurious silky gasoline fog rolls out. The Lectrons provide fuel; loads of it, finely atomized! However, let the bike sit overnight, and the fog condenses and the intakes will be wet in the morning. As a consequence, I've never had to use the starter circuit on these carbs; the bike reliably starts on the first kick, so long as it hasn't been sitting foe over a week.
I'd love to peer in with the bike on a dyno, or point a GoPro down the carb for a ride... I have a feeling I'd learn a lot!
