A 2x72 belt grinder with poly rollers creates a LOT of static electricity when you're free-grinding (not bracing the part on the table)! :eek::yikes:

Wound up having to brace my hip against the table to keep from getting zapped every time my hand got within 2-3 inches of the frame.
 
Bein' an ex Navy sparky, I'd think you had an ESD strap layin' around. Come to think of it, I don't have one either. :rolleyes:
On those dry winter days my blasting cabinet does the same... zaps me in the chest anytime I get too close. Think I'll check Amazon for one.
