Recently I purchased a .05 piston set from Cruzinimage. Today I looked at the rings, the top two rings are marked 50. One has a chrome type edge , one is a blackish cast edge. The problem is they are both 1.3mm . Unfortunately I do not have the pistons in front of me as them are with the cylinder getting bored/honed. My understanding is that the top ring is always thinner that the second one. Talk to me.....

Hey GLJ--I understand that but usually the top ring is thinner that the second. Both of these rings are the same thickness. I wish I had my pistons so I could check , if both ring lands are the same [1.3mm] all is fine.

Yes, I think that's how the cruzinimage piston and ring sets are, top two rings are the same thickness. And yes, the chrome one goes on top.

Thanks 5T, it has been a few years since I have done a top end with his piston set. I remember the top ring always being thinner........
