UNI vs K&N? NEED INPUT

whats everyones advice on these filters. Performance wise and price wise which filter is better for my bs 38 mikuni? And what size uni do I need? there are so many universal uni filters. I have also looked at Uni's web site and the only xs650 filter for the stock motor is for 74'???? I take it that I need a Uni filter with the same I.D size as my O.D size on the intake flange on my carb??? Thank you in advanced!!!

The 4" length is what you want if you have the battery box still in place, they fit perfectly .....
UP4200 or UP4200ST for the 38s, UP4229 or UP4229ST for the 34s. I follow the "care and feeding" special instructions as provided on the UNI Australia site .....

based solely on my own experience, unifilters are much better.

Im pushing more towards the UNI's. The motorcycle pods are 58.00 for the chrome top pod filters and other "UNIVERSAL" UNI filters are 15 and 18.00 dollars a piece what is the difference besides a piece of chrome cap at the end of the filter? Im not the flashy type and if I can get a set for my 38"s for 30.00 dollars i will be happy. Can anyone help me with model numbers for a uni filter that will work well with my carb?

Never been a fan of K&N's. I've always found it difficult to jet correctly when using K&N's.
