Vented gas cap question

I'm running VM 36's with a peanut tank and single free flow petcock. I found this cap on Fleabay, but the seller claims it's not vented. What are the little holes around the edge if they're not vents, and from what I've read I have to have a vented cap, right?

well it kinda looks vented.
Yes tanks need to be vented for gas to flow out ya need air to replace it.
If not it will create a vacume which will stop fuel flow, and that's not a good thing

You suppose the Fleabay seller doesn't know what he's selling? Wouldn't be the first time. Looks like vents to me.

Ya should be able to find an old style harley cap on there
I have bought a couple of them from there.
