Washing oil filter?

Both the sump and right side engine cover filters are brass screening. Not designed to be replaced but cleaned and reused.
You can use most any cleaner you want, even Dawn dishwashing soap works, just get them clean. I use kerosene. I have extra of both filters so I can just put in clean ones during the oil change and clean the dirty when I can.

In general you can wash the filter, but be cautious and do not use anything harsh or any solvents because you may damage the glue that holds them together, especially true for aftermarket filters. When rinsing, remember that the oil flows from the outside in, so spray the water from the inside out.

So, as XsLeo suggets, just use some warm water with dishwashing liquid in the kitchen sink and spray them from the inside out.
