i want to weld some new pipes and a tab for a kickstand.. i would disconnect frame ground wires, spark plug wires, battery, etc. not to fry electronics but should a pamco be completely removed from the engine?

if no one knows i will take it out but it would be nice to keep my timing where it is

When I mounted my PAMCO I used a moulded plastic wire connecter So I could take out the unit and not have to re-solder it in. I would not remove the unit but definately disconnect it electricly. Maybe cover it during the welding with a heavy rag.

I would recommend that you remove the PAMCO before welding. It's not just the current through the frame that can cause problems, but the strong magnetic fields that are created as well.
