I tried using ¼"all thread rod with helm joints on each end but it wasn't stiff enough (maybe if I paint it Viagra blue it'll stuff'n up:laugh:). What are other folks using for forward control linkage? :banghead:

im useing 1/4 inch steel rod welded right in the napa nuckel. i bent the brake side once before i put new drum brakes on. bad thing is no adjustment.

- could maybe try sheathing your 1/4 in threaded rod with some 1/4 in ID tube

Haven't done it yet but 1/4" cold roll rod and thread the ends would be a lot stiffer. If that isn't enough 5/16 cold roll, turn down and thread the ends.

1/4-20 threads have a very small root diameter, and are very weak, try a fine thread, and try bending by hand, if you can, try something else.
