What is B designation on Generator Rotor B?

I am looking on eBay for a replacement generator rotor (armature or field coil) for my79 XS650. I have seen several ads for parts with description Rotor - B. Some of the ads do not indicate the year the parts used so not sure what to look for. The parts look like mine but want to buy the correct replacement.

BTW the resistance between the slip rings should be about 5.5 ohms from what I know. I measured 0.8 ohms on the one I want to replace.

You'd be much better off buying a rewound rotor from @Jim. He's got one listed for sale in classifieds, and if you need a non-TCI rotor I'm sure he'll rewind one for you. He does great work. Been running two of his rotors nor on different bikes for many thousands of miles trouble free.

If yah just gotta have used I have several used that test good, any year rotor will work in your bike
