Hi all, im checking the floats on my 1979 and one float is approx 24 and the other is about 27mm. the right hand carb is leaking fuel from the bottom air intake from the airbox and that's the one which is set to the 24mm setting.
Points to that one being wrong but I have included some photo's as I would like to know for sure as to which carb I have and the correct setting please.

Also for the hell of it also included a picture of the bike which is nearly back on the road after 24 years laying in bits in a garage.

many thanks

I'm afraid I don't recognize those carbs, at least as a 650 set anyway. They may be from some other Yamaha model like the 400. 27mm may be the correct setting for the floats. I know it is the setting for the brass float equipped 650 BS34s. Best way to check for the correct fuel level is to use a clear tube connected to the drain on the bottom of the bowl. You want the fuel level to be about at the seam between the bowl and carb body .....
