xs performance single tower coil

I just ordered an XS performance single tower hi performance coil from Mike's XS. Then when I went to install it, I realized the bike has two coils... I've got a 79 XS650 Special and now I'm wondering if I need two of these things since its only got a single tower? Thanks for your help!

If you have points, you need two of the single tower coils and they have to be rated for points, like 3.3 + primary Ohms. What is the part number of the coil?

Ok, I figured, the part number is #17-6807. Hell, I've never ventured into this area of bike tinkering so I was hoping that since this thing is so huge, maybe it ran both plugs. Whatever, I'll order another.

Here is one way to mount the coils as they are large and will not fit in the same mounts as the stock coils:

Also a caution. These coils are the single output version of the dual output "Green Monster" and they are capable of producing 75,000 Volts, so do not operate with the plug wire disconnected from the plug.

Ah, I saw that warning for the dual output on the Mikes XS page, I'll be sure to not do that!
