I'm looking for a pair of 1970 XS1 reflector stays. Part number 256-23122-60, those are the big ones for the "outer spring" fork.

Lokking for a XS1 rear fender stay as well. The one with the flashers mounted on a plate.

Thanks in advance
Alex

I'm looking for a pair of 1970 XS1 reflector stays. Part number 256-23122-60, those are the big ones for the "outer spring" fork.

Did some research on those, seems that some parts manuals don't agree, but found the original number references.

256-23122-60 is the larger XS1 reflector stay
275-23122-60 is the smaller XS1B, XS2 reflector stay
286-23122-60 is the TX650 reflector stay

Pretty rare part. Good luck...

...Lokking for a XS1 rear fender stay as well. The one with the flashers mounted on a plate.

Researched this one, too. Identified as:
Stay, Fender 5
256-21645-00-00 = XS1 and some early XS1B's
256-21645-01-00 = Late XS1B, XS2 and TX650

The -01 variant I believe can be used. Don't know the differences between the two...

Yes the 256-21645-01-00 could be used, but its a XS 2 part.

I have a late XS1B with the 256-21645-00-00 version. According to the parts list it should be the old version on the XS1 B but I saw a lot of XS1 B's whith the newer version.

The diference between the early (00) and late (01) version is how the flashers are mounted.
- The early version consists of a steel plate which is mounted to the stay with a rubber plate inbetween. The Flasher is mounted to this plate.

- for the newer version, the flashers are directly mounted to the stay. (elastically supported like the front ones)

Cheers

Okay, I see that now. My late XS1B has the XS2 version. Saw both versions on the XS1Bs in 650Skull's ID thread:

My parts manuals show both versions, with the associated parts, but they sure don't agree on model usage. It looks like the best ID tell is the upper mount hole(s) and the size of the lower hole for the signal mount. These 2 pics should help folks to see this:

My XS1 to XS2 parts list, show them individual as XS1&XS1B and XS2

But there are a lot of irregularities on these early models and variations depending on the country.
