XS1 Signal light Question

I picked up a 1970 XS1 last week and had a question about the signal lights. I heard that some early ones came without. My VIN is the low 3000's and I have no signal light but I do have the signal light switch on the left control. Did they all have the switch regardless of having the turn signals or did only the models with turn signals have the switch?
Yes, I know the bike needs tons of work, the top end is wrong for the year, the frond end is wrong, the engine is locked, but it has the numbers matching case and I have the old style cylinder and head setup to put on it.

Yeah my 70's have the switch lowest VIN I have is 1500

Yes those forks arn't the origional ones, those are ceriani forks. A vastly improved period correct upgrade. Consider keeping them.

You have the rare early version rear fender loop, which uses the impossible-to-find mount plates. More info in here:

Thanks for all the info, I was looking for parts for my XS2 project when I came across this gem. Even with the ton of work it's going to need, I couldn't pass it up.
