Just finished the seat. This is the second seat I've built, and the first one was a little plain, so I decided to go all out. The racing stripes will match the planned stripes on the bike.
I also had a buddy of mine make this push dagger for me, and I built a sheath into the front of the seat... Also carved the bottom with the Yamaha logo inset in the Japanese rising sun. There's no reason the bottom of the seat can't look as good as the top.
I took a ton of pics while building this seat and plan to post them on my build thread at some point. At the moment, my Internet is incredibly slow, so it might be a while before I do.

Thanks! Yeah, this one took a while. I've been carving leather for years, but I'm new to seats. I was happy with it.

My June Update is not good, i've made little progress in June.
I had agreed to put together and Install an in house DJ system at a local bar and I designed and built them a Custom ATA style Roadcase DJ Stand. I build custom ATA style Roadcases on the side. and occasionally install in house sound systems, and it unfortunately ate up most of my spare time in June. So either i get serious progress done in July, or i'm concerned i may not make it in time. I'm for sure going to be pulling an engine out of my 81 special or the 75 standard i just picked up, and clean up the engine and use it in this build, then worry about rebuilding the 77 engine right after the Aug 23rd buildoff meetup which i plan on coming to come hell or high water.
Anyways good luck to all on your builds and i hope you all finish your builds in time and can make it to Defiance in Aug.

Hey guys! I've got a question/concern I want to run by everybody.
My 9-year-old son asked if he could go to the event with me. I've never been to an event like this and was wondering if it would be appropriate for him.
I've spoken to one member who advised against it after hearing about last year's event, but I thought I'd run it by everyone and see what y'all thought.

there was nothing done at the event last year that a kid could not see but I would say that is a adult get away weekend for some so id say no kids just based on that.

took it for a little ride today man this thing runs good don't know if it's the cam 680cc
1 carb or the rephase but this thing has balls even with the 17/31 gear pulls hard.
well back to it I still need to button every thing up still waiting on the pma set up
to top it off.
