XT500 Project

I've not been on here for a while.
I've been temporarily distracted from my motorcycle projects.
My XT500 based project has now progressed to an engine and a standard XT frame, with the engine mounts and oil pipes.
And that's about all.
I've got a front end that I can build up from SR500 and XS650 bits.
But at the rear end I've got nothing.
For some reason XT500 swing arms seem to be both rare and expensive.
I'm thinking of substituting a different swing arm and rear wheel, hopefully to reduce my outlay and to give me better braking at least.
But as yet I've no idea what may fit.
Suggestions please, and not high tech or expensive ones please, this is a "back burner" project with a very limited budget.
Oh yeah.
Before anyone points me towards a XT/SR forum, I've already had a good look.
No life to be found.
They're all but dead.

Very reasonable, except that unfortunately for me, it's on the wrong side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Add $133 shipping to the UK, then add 20% VAT to the whole lot for Customs duty.
About the same price as the rip off breakers in the UK .
XT/SR rear wheels seem to command even higher prices, but unfortunately I can't use a XS rear wheel (I've got a few spare ones) because a CV cush drive hub is required.

Is very much alive, is very helpful, and has a big UK and European following. Doesn't seem to be a lot of action in the classified sections, but you could try posting a "Wanted" ad.

Have a look at the motollana website they have a nice ally swinger at a reasonable price
