OZARK RALLY UPDATE. The Ozarks Folk Center (park and hotel) can now take room reservations under our group name. Please call the Main Office at 870 269 3851 and PRESS 2 to book a room. Do not press 1 as it will transfer you to the Reservation America system who has no idea about the event.

The Ozark Folk Center is located at the east edge of the Ozark National Forest, one of the best riding areas in the US. It features very nice bungalows, each with full hotel-style rooms and a great restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don't forget to mention the Yamaha 650 Society for special romm rate of $70.00. Come on down for a day or two and ride with us!

Bumping up this old thread:
Dates for 2019 are April 25 - 27.
Before I book the room, is this event usually well attended?

Thank you.
My other one of interest is the WV Mountain Rally May 30 to June 1.
Do you know if that one is well attended?

Re. the Ozarks rally, it's the quality of the attendance that counts!
Desmoman (John Chaves, director of the Yamaha 650 Society, holder of every professional racing license you can name in North America, South America, and Europe, and High Priest of the Temple of Speed) leads the rally, master wrench Gary Goetz is a regular, master gadgeteer Ross Hiebert and his son are regulars, we hope Marty the jetmech will be on hand. That makes the event very well attended indeed, and as an extra incentive I'm offering a free copy of the 26 page Yamaha 650 Society carburetor manual to new members who sign up at the rally (and no, that's not the old Carb Guide--it's much more detailed, and includes troubleshooting checklists and much more information on aftermarket options). Come on down out of the cold, April in Arkansas is beautiful!

John Chaves has my XS650. If I want it back, I'll be coming to the Ozarks.

Lakeview, Dave Hoopengardner (sp) hosts the WV rally. He's not much for social media. I did attend an XS11 rally or 5 in the same neighborhood. The riding is great.

Just got off the phone with Michelle at the Ozark Centre, she tells me that the active group number given above relates to 2018, not this year. Also, April 25 to 27 is heavily booked, but a group reservation is expected to vacate which will leave room for XS650 Society.
