Yamaha part number is 306-81950-10-00. What does this relay do?

I'm building an xs using a 256 kick start engine. Got the xs1 wiring harness from Mikes. I see this relay for sale on E-bay. Is it for the 71-70 kick start models? Ebay ad says it fits xs1,2, etc. What does it do? Do I need it? Don't see where it would plug into my harness. Also, is there a lighting safety relay on this model and is it necessary? Help. Thanks. Electrics aren't my strong suit. I'm building the 256 with the 750 Racers Long Rod kit from 650 Central, Pamco/pma from Mikes, Shell 1 cam, 34Mikuni round slides, a little porting and a lot of other stuff.

electric start relay not needed for a kick only, no light checker, also not needed
you can tell your lights are out after dark, it was overkill
