Gary runs a Mephis Shades windshield that's pretty nice. I had one on an old BMW also that Iiked , universal mounts a good variety of sizes and styles. And they sell them from Parts Canada.

Spitfires do the job in Phoenix, too. I get some buffeting, but nothing too heinous. I would definitely call it minimal, light-duty.

I checked my oil yesterday and saw it was down quite a bit. Had been good at checking this and all was good so got complacent. I was down 1 litre in 600 kms / 372 miles. Decided to do an oil change as it was pretty dark/dirty even though it had only been about 1200 miles since the last change.
Good news that there was a miniscule amount of metal filings and only a couple of black plastic bits less than 1mm in size.
I have ordered a cheap borescope that will hook up to my phone so when it arrives I will get some pics so you doctors can evaluate.
So looks like I'm stopping for oil and checking the gas until the seasons over. Pretty bad when you've got to carry extra oil for running errands.....lol.
Hey, I'm having a ball riding it. All this work has been worth it. And when the top is done and everything settles down she will be that much more enjoyable.

Regardless it was pretty dark and good to change anyways. Also wanted to see what I might find in there after running it for a while on the highway lately. Nice to see nothing bad in there but I would guess that this much oil consumption is a good indication that the rings are leaking.

Yup - once a bike is broken in, frequent oil changes are good Robin. As long as you keep up with it, you'll be fine till the snow flies - and you can buy a lotta oil for the price of a new bike.

Ya, you're right Pete. Although I changed it a little early, at 1200 kms/750 miles (I messed up in what I had said on kms vs miles). It was pretty dirty in spite of the oil I have been adding, so I wanted to see what I might find. Good news there.
But I seem to be burning about a litre every 600 kms/375 miles for the last month. That's pretty excessive and I'm guessing shows rings are leaking in addition to valve seals.
Time will tell.
