Adios my two wheel friends.

Don't you dare leave here Dan!
No matter what happens in a very real way you will always be here with us.

Weekendrider,
Dan, you have been on my mind for some time now. Without knowing any details ( and I’m not asking you to divulge) I know you are struggling with something catostrauphic. I can only imagine what you’re going through.
Although I don’t know you personally, through this forum you can sometimes get a pretty good picture of some individuals. You are one of those people, I have witnessed through your posts that you are an open, kind , giving and well loved man.
I have read your posts on this forum , where you have talked about your family, your wife , your friends, your kindness towards animals. You have many friends here and in your personal life and you have detailed many of your adventures here. You have always been patient and helpful to fellow members here, especially those who are new to the forum.

I truly believe that our lives impact others in ways we can scarcely imagine. You have helped and encouraged scores of aspiring restorers and riders on this site, who then help someone else. And of course the far reaching impact you will have in your own family.

I have also read your posts about caring for animals, the kindness and compassion I’ve seen you show for your pets and wildlife are exemplary. You wrote about all the effort you and your wife made in taking care of your 20 year old blind and deaf cat.

And you posted, not one but three videos of you taking care of a baby woodpecker, who’s nest was knocked from a tree.
You don’t need me to tell you this, but you sir are a good person. Some people go through life just existing, others like you, embrace it. You will always be one of the great members of this forum and you have a fan in me.
I sincerely hope to still see you around the forum. I for one do not wish to say adios to you, but “ Until we meet again.” Vaya Con Dios my friend.
Bob

Mick

Hello xs650 friends,

I regret to inform you that WeekendRider passed away in his home this morning 10/19/2018.

I want to extend my gratitude to the members of this forum for your many years of common interest and fellowship.
This hobby was a big part of his life in his later years. He respected and talked about many of the people he met here, and the organized rides he attended.

Like Mailman said, your ripples have a far reaching effect, and the individuals here have touched our lives in a positive way.
Thank you for all the kind words, it means a lot to his family.

Keep your knees in the breeze, God bless

Thanks so much for this note Skidz78. I hate to admit it, but I, and I am sure many others on the XS650 Forum, have been waiting and wondering how Dan was faring and how his journey was progressing. Now we have the answer.

He was a wonderful guy and a good friend to many here - and I am sure in his own personal circle. Please pass along my sincerest condolences to his family and other friends.
