I’ve spent a little time researching hydraulic clutches and I think it’s something I’d like to incorporate on my build.

I’ve always been intrigued by this modification in my short time on this journey with the XS650 and it’s something I’ve always mentally logged when seen it mentioned on here.

I remember Mr Riggs designed a very neat setup indeed. I’ve found the thread where he mentions it and even read the replies saying “good write up” etc. But not for love nor money can I see the write up itself! Very odd!

Can anybody steer me in the right direction? I’ve messaged him directly but he hasn’t been online since March.

Many thanks in advance!

Daniel.

I saw this thread after replying to your PM.

The step-by-step building of it was documented on The Chopper Underground which no longer exists.

The text is long gong but I do still have all the pictures on my web server.

By the way, the clutch still functions smoothly and effortlessly. In all these years it hasn't required any adjustment or lost a single drop of oil.

I did mine based off the chopper underground write up. Works great with a 13mm master.

Mine ended up made out of 516 hardened stainless, and aluminum bronze piston. It's what I could get out of the scrap bin where I worked.

Looks really nice and clean! Did you also fab everything? You guys are killing it.
- Can you offer some advice on sourcing the parts to begin a build?
- Did you happen to save the original writeup text and/or have measurement info?

I have been looking for a hydraulic slave cylinder too. I was hoping someone was building a kit for sale. I know you can get the ones that bolt on outside the cover but prefer the one that mounts inside the cover.

Hello Mr. Riggs: How are you doing? Hope all is well. Would you happen to have an extra slave cylinder that you are willing to part with? I need it bad, my left wrist is almost dead! Thank you kindly.

@mrriggs Glad to see you here. Just wanted to thank you not only for the photos of your slave setup but for your HEI conversion. It is what led me to research TCI replacements that led to the Gonzi TCI.

Again Thank you.

Jack

I’ve designed one very similar to Mr Riggs (read copied with slight alterations)

I’ll be having one made in the next month or so, if there’s interest I could look into having more made?

I’ll be having the first made from Titanium as that’s what I’ve bought and want to use but I appreciate this may not be to everyone’s tastes so happy to source another material?

Daniel.
