Slimey Crud signals the start and end of the "Official Wisconsin Riding Season" and is always well attended no matter the weather. On a nice day several thousand bikes and riders with many vintage custom and special interest machines will be at both ends. The local bars and service clubs serve traditional Wisconson feeds and beverages.
Organized it's not, show up, talk, ride any ole route you choose, look at more bikes, wander home.
I'll be there (both ends) Any one want to stop in at the ranch located in the Magnificent Baraboo Bluffs, before or after, just let me know. I'm about 35 miles north of Pine Bluff and and about 20 miles North East of Leland

Crud is a great event...lots of interesting machines BUT ! ... it's a target rich environment for the boys in blue... particularly on the route to Leland. Plenty of " radar "....

Well you don' want to be crazy but most O the local gendarmes just clump up IN Leland, an easy overtime day for them.

Just got home from Slimy Crud run. Very good day, lot of nice people there. Lot of people stopped and looked at Gary's XS1 and my XS2.
Lot of other interesting bikes. Looked like 99% of the bikes were ridden there.
270 smile round trip. Tune up for next week.

It leaves me scratching my head I KNOW how many old bikes are around many of them restored or rehabbed and ready to ride yet few show up. :umm:  :er:
Pine bluff is like ten miles from Madison bet there are thousands of old bikes that could make the trip, but mostly late models and Harleys. :shootme:
Then again this beauty was crashed on the way to Pine Bluff.

(other side) got too hot into a corner and the ole front drum wasn't up to it.

A bit of a damper on the festivities.
We also passed three cop cars and a group of riders, Think it involved stunting on a grom that went badly perhaps another bike collision.
Separate Motorcycle Crashes Result in Fatalities

On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 the Sauk County Sheriff's Office took reports of two separate motorcycle crashes that resulted in fatalities.

The first crash was reported at approximately 12:14 PM on County Road B near the intersection with Guhl Road in the township of Troy. It was reported that a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle had left the roadway and crashed into a field and the lone occupant had been ejected from the motorcycle. Responding deputies located the male operator deceased from injuries sustained in the crash. A portion of the roadway was closed while deputies conducted their investigation into the crash. Plain Fire, Plain Ambulance and Sauk City Fire assisted at the scene.

While deputies were investigating the first crash Sauk County Dispatch received a report of another motorcycle crash. The second motorcycle crash was reported at approximately 1:04 PM on State Highway 60 near the intersection with County Road C in the township of Troy. It was reported that a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle had left the roadway and entered into a wooded area adjacent to the roadway and the lone occupant had been ejected from the motorcycle. Responding deputies located the male operator deceased from injuries sustained in the crash. Spring Green Fire and Spring Green EMS assisted at the scene.

At this time the names of both victims are being withheld pending notification of the families and the investigation into both crashes is ongoing.

It leaves me wondering if another vehicle was somehow involved, but left the scene. I know it's just as likely not, as too many of us don't actually know how to safely operate our motorcycles. A sad time for those family and friends indeed.
