What have you done to your XS today?

That mount is so neglected you sometimes find the nut has fallen right off, lol. I check mine every year during my annual left cover "Spring cleaning".

That recalls me that I've seen the sexiest way to secure bolts on a Bentley 4 1/4 litre Le mans 1928 where all the bolts were drilled and secure with a wire...

I'll try to integrate that on my bobber somewhere...

When I bought my bike the red tail light cover was missing, the rear blinkers were being held on with duct tape and both front and rear right side blinkers failed to turn on. I wanted to do a less obtrusive lighting system in the rear and put on this LED taillight-blinker- license plate holder all in 1 combo. It was only $20 on Amazon, so to save money I chose it to at least get the bike road legal. It’s not too bad looking so it might stay, I just hope the signals and stuff are visible enough.

If the damn seat that’s on it was skinnier it would really streamline the bike, but alas, she got wide hips that don’t lie:rolleyes:

These are the front blinkers before and after as well. The new blinkers were given to me by the seller of the bike so again, might be temporary but I’m digging them for now. Certainly nice having blinkers that work now :bike:

Rode the blue 77 down to the north shore of Lake Erie approximately opposite Cleveland. The cool lake waters had dropped the temps down an easy 10 degrees and there was a bit of mist in the air.
Putted through Erie Beach and Erieau, quiet little burgs.
90 kilometres today, bike performed very nicely, it's a keeper.

WJL got a new K70 rear tire and rear brake shoes, the 750A got a new front tire and brake pads and a rotor sanding. Pic of the factory front tire from the 750A, prolly could have rode on it for a couple more years, the tread pattern was getting deeper. Today the 750A gets rear tire, chain, and sprockets. Typical for me, ride time was as the sun was going down. :cautious: Had the choice last night and wanted to get some more handlebar time with the automatic. It's fun for potsing around on. :sneaky: Getting carb, throttle, idle, settings just right is a bit tricky on the Hondamatic. Bopping around town I noticed some gear heads turning and looking when they heard the odd for a motorcycle engine rev pattern as I Ieft stop signs.

Does it just kind of build up to 3500-4500rpm and more or less hold that steady while accelerating! Kinda like a scooter CV transmission?
I drove a small Toyota car that had a CV transmission and that’s what it did. It was weird that the revs didn’t rise and fall much.
I have to say I’m intrigued by Honda’s NC750x with the dual clutch automatic. It gets pretty great reviews all around. Seems like it would make a nice mid size touring bike.

More like your grandpa's Caprice pulling a trailer.
Took it up "snake road" in high gear; steep uphill with 10MPH switchbacks, handled it just fine, accelerating fast as I'd care to on the twisties.

...something I was wondering would ever happen...actually rode the '77 up and down the street...

...granted it was just a short shakedown through the 'hood but at least now I know it does actually run decent and move under it's own power.

Looking good!

The no compression motor's out of this, rear wheel changed to spoke, drum, front end complete swap, up next. Be a mechanic boys; it's a rewarding career.
