Sold / Found / Inactive - XS650 to restore

Free with the bike if sold if bikes not sold ill keep it as I will need it

Background chatter: It sure would be good to see the motor ID to confirm this has the matching motor, even if it doesn't, the frame is a very unique and worthwhile item.......

I noticed the oil side cover plate screws, are in the 9 O'clock, 3 O,clock position. Some XS2's in the brochures show them in the 11 O,clock, 5 O,clock position. Mailmans XS2 is in the 9-3position, so maybe it was a mid year thing or the brochures show an early XS1/1B engine side cover on an XS2 bike.........Yamaha did have different model parts on different brochures.......on the 74TX brochure it shows an early XS1-TX frame???

Head appears correct. At least the decompression kit is there.

and the decompression lever is on the handlebars still, I wish I could confirm about the engine but I'm not able to view the bike wrong country im in :umm:

no worry's they are fairly quick, it's a shame as to where the bike came from, it was about half way to you in Houston Texas I shipped it from :)

Good question I don't have an answer for but rather sure it can be done one way or another. gaskets no issue early type pisons could be found best way forward would depend on intended use of the completed motor.

I know where some one has the last set for sale, unfortunately my e mail outlook has crashed  so I can't access that information but hang in there we are fixing that gremlin bbs ;), base gasket will be the same I believe, head gasket again I believe same place as the piston set
