No spark when grounded to the head or in the motor its not firing. When checking for where I got power it's all the way down to the coil.

OK If you have power + 12 V to the coil
Please check 12 V to the box ( Red )
Then the white must have a solid ground .. I have mine drawn all the way to battery minus .
Please ensure ground for ( white ) ---or better draw the ground ( white ) to battery minus for testing

Going to bed its late here if you don't get it to run I recommend disconnect the battery so power is not on the system
It can be a risk should something not be connected right
I check in tomorrow

I got 2 bullet connectors plugged into ignition lead(red white tracer) one goes to box one goes coil

Strictly speaking it should be one Red and one White Red

please look above

As long as you have 12 V on both coil and box + and white to ground it will ( or should ) fire

I'd tell a newb to the xs650 to note which bundle of the harness goes to which side of the headlight bucket, its almost immaterial but....also removing the battery box can be a Chinese puzzle. It goes out one side and not t'other, twisted OR out the rear when the tire is removed if I recall correctly, it's been a while.
