Introducing Yamaha’s entire 2022 cruiser lineup!

RE has a long history, since 1901, and the Bullets were the motorcycle longest in production anywhere in the World. Been making Enfields in Chennai since 1955. The swing-arm frame, introduced in after the War as you correctly say, is known to Bullet enthusiasts as the Redditch frame. After the Redditch factory closed, India introduced a new frame. More recently, Enfield has developed new bikes with consultancy from Harris Performance frames - I think they designed that frame?

But I put the wrong picture - intended to show one of the new 350 Classics which use same engine and frame as the Meteor. This is the Chrome but they have a good range of other colours on offer:

Quite a tempting bike at less than 4 1/2 grand, if you can be happy with 20 hp for pottering around. More real than the new BSAs?

Wow! If it didn’t have those disc brakes, you’d think you were looking at a 1950’s bike! People tend to forget that 350’s used to be a mid size bike ! :D

Yes I Agree the looks is nailed but 350 is to small at least if you are going out on the freeway with a well fed girlfriend.
Keeping up with the tempo

The CB 1100 on the other hand is to large ...For many buyers i believe

Kawasaki has hit the hammer right on the head with their standard retro styled bikes...The Z900RS is really a nice naked bike...Would love one...But I dont love that radiator..

If I ever buy another new bike, it'll most likely be the Enfield 650.

I’ve thought about it quite a few times.

Have you ever seen em in person? I see one parked at the local grocery store quite often. The only thing in my eyes that would have to go day one would be the exhaust system. I think the mufflers took aweful.

The whole bike is pretty spot on and then BAM this modern fat exhaust. Like something off a Chinese scooter.

Beyond that. Looks great.

Part of the appeal to me is the aftermarket support. Don't like the mufflers?.... there's others to choose from.

That’s what almost put me over the edge. Lots of aftermarket.

I’m sure I’ll see a used one local within the next few years and grab it. There are quite a few dealers within 100miles of me.

IMHO the great thing about Royal Enfield is that their Indian home market is massive, they're not dependant on exports to sustain them.
Last time I checked RE production was running at 900,000 units per year and rising.
So unlike other manufacturers, they don't have to be hyper-sensitive about the latest whims of fashon, if some pretentious magazine doesn't like this years colour scheme, RE won't be fretting about it too much

Surprising that RE topped the list
The rest was more or less expected production is one Factor but also the design marginals
But on the other hand large manufacturer gets a lot market feedback quick.
Perhaps can be a serious contender after all.

There was the saying Germans should have an Italian designer ( in the artistic styling sense ) and the Italians a German Quality engineer and the word would be a better place.

If you watch old British movies about the British Raj, you could be forgiven for thinking that Indians are a race of retarded peasants, but they managed to reach Mars with a space probe at their first attempt.
Expect great things from India in years to come

I have watched numerous reviews by Stuart Fillingham and enjoyed every one of them. This one is under 14 minutes and worth the watch.

What I don't like with these kind of presentations is that they are talking about the " Ton "
I have never seen or known anyone driving a motorcycle like this since the late 60 ies
Obviously not a sports bike or a race bike but everyone I know would at some point in time rev it closer to the mentioned was it 7000 rpm At least at straight road
Very few would care to listen to the specs. and talk about it.
On every gear And turning into corners The tester could then come with an evaluation of frame suspension and acceleration.
Not that it perhaps matters .. But it gives an impression that attracts interest and customers.
Everyone knows it is not a rocket but anyways. It is a motorcycle not a Vespa Scooter

I'm not sure what the 'ton' is. The attraction here is the affable nature of the 'bloke' as he riding along, and his matter-of-fact commentary given as Gospel. Along with the accent and description of his likes and dislikes, I just get a good sense of purpose and comradie from his videos.

No intended criticism in that sense to him or you .What I am after is showing the thing.
I beleive the ton is 100 Mph
I worked with excavators and there was a couple of machine operators .. Hired by the company that was extremely skilled And working in the field on your own machine or hired it is a question of drive softly not damaging the machine .And do the job quick
But with the same operator at a Sales Fair or exhibition they had to tell him smash the bucket into the rock so the
Machine jumps and sparks flow -- tracks are squealing angainst the concrete. Display its capacity.
Customers can se it is built to take it. The salesman can Point to it ---look at that Gentlemen this New developed machine can take it whatever you want to do .Dont need any dynamite Anymore Hahahahaha ( exaggerating )
Maybe I am wrong here but not revving it sends an impression That can send the wrong signals as it did with excavators.

Never was much of a Stuart Fillingham fan.
RyanF9 and Zack Cortes(sp?) both give it good marks though.
