Petrol prices

Any how the price of fuel is still going up...............when the average cost of a barrel around $105 for the last month, the price of gasoline still rises slowly

Appears to be USA data

I remember when I was a kid... 2 gas stations on the same street would start a "gas war." I could fill up my RD for a buck with enough left over for a pack of Camels and a Coke. :laugh2:

I shared a story in Mountainview at the rally. Early 70s I am 15. We get home after Church and cuz is parked in front of our house. I am 15 so he is 13. He proudly sits on his Benley Honda 150. Dress slacks, white shirt collars, black dress shoes. Open face Bell helmet, 15 miles from home, chomping on a stoggie. I remove myself from family and ask 13 year old Mark (long departed cuz now)"aren't you afraid of getting pulled over?". He replied "they never pull you over if you are smoking a cigar". RIP Mark Anthony. :)

Cruising around and drinking beer, you hooligan you! 😄 I also remember being in high school and filling up my Mustang for 25 cents a gallon. I may have done a little cruising and drank a little beer with my friends too!
Ahh the good old days eh?

the car was a 100E prefect all of 10 horsepower 4 cylinder side valve 3 speed on the floor. Max speed on a straight was a full 75 mph.

We had to drive to the Alton pub and knock on the back serving window to get the beer all underage by 4 or 5 years but the publican did a roreing trade on underage hooligans.................anyways Friday and Saturday night drinking beers and becoming the best rally driver in all of Taranaki, unfortunately the corners weren't navigationalable and the banks used to hit the car with a regular monotiny...........The car would spend the nexrt 5 days getting bogged up and painted ready for the next rally adventure...........If anyone spiled any beer in the car when we crashed they lost 6 points and were relegated to the boot..............That last bits a lie.........lol

Up .50 cents/ gal here in northern Indiana. Just hit 4.59 a gallon. Costs me around $130 to fill my truck up. Sheesh. Lowest I remember seeing it was about .99 gal when I started driving around 1990.

When I first moved to Tucson in 1967 all of the gas stations were involved in price wars..i think the cheapest gas i ever bought there in 1969 on 22nd ST near Palo Verde HS..was 18.9 cents per gallon..so for $1.80 I could put 10 gals in my parents 1961 Lincoln Continental...5000lbs of real metal..with suicide rear doors...:smoke:

And between 8 and 10 MPG around town.

Saw an offshore type boat for sale locally. Advertised twin 425hp engines. Googled fuel consumption and it said 1 gal / hr / 10 hp. That means this boat would consume 85 gph. Don’t know what marina fuel costs are but I’m guessing at least 25% more than on the street. My recent purchase of $11.04 / gal would be $13.80 / gal. Fuel consumption would be $1173 / hr! Just thinking the consumption rate may have been stated in US gal?

Anyway way out of my league.

Went onto reserve riding home from work yesterday and stopped at the local to get fuel.
After filling the tank I glanced at the bowser-$33 for 13.5 litres . Once I got off the ground I went and paid for the liquid gold and rode sedately home.

But that is exorbitant and you are getting ripped off.............The pump price here today, (regular) in Mission Beach is $187.9 a litre

A local on Facebook posted in the for sale................I have 60 liters of fuel. Willing to trade for a house on the beach

The shock to me has been paying close to $10 for half a can of gas to mow the yard every couple of weeks :) Seems like it ought to cost about $2

Took a 5 gallon can to the local station up north for the lawnmower. Little over 1/2 full and all for a mere $33.
